The parties of the 9th Rome Film Festival


The parties never stop at the 9th Rome Film Festival. Following the opening party organized at the MAXXI by Wired Next Cinema, the inauguration party of The Business Street at the Ara Pacis, the event at La Crostaceria in Rione Monti, and the party organized by Festival partner JTI, in the splendid scenario of the Lanterna (i.e. the lantern, the dome of glass and steel designed by renowned Italian architect Massimiliano Fuksas) which boasted distinguished guests such as Richard Gere, who came to the Festival for Time Out Of Mind,and Walter Salles, winner of the Marc’Aurelio Award for Lifetime Achievement 2014, the Roman nights will be celebrating many other events.

Two parties took place yesterday evening, October 20th, organized by Gianluca Mech (Cosmech) to celebrate the arrival in Rome of Spandau Ballet, who presented the documentary by George Hencken Soul Boys of the Western World, about the rapid rise and subsequent decline of the 1980s cult band. At 6:30 pm in the Food Area of the Villaggio del Cinema, an exclusive “Tisanoreic” cocktail party took place with actors and personalities from the world of cinema and entertainment, to warm things up before the Spandau Ballet walked the red carpet at 7.30 pm; at 9:00 pm, the Hotel Bernini Bristol in Piazza Barberini, was the venue for the dinner dedicated to the band that symbolized an entire generation. For the evening event Mech, a music and film aficionado, invented a Tisanoreic desert, the “T-muffin with fruit and crème Chantilly with Cioco Mech and Bon Mech confiserie on the side”.

Among the charity events, on October 23rd at 8:30 pm at the Open Colonna – Palazzo Esposizioni, the Fondazione Telethon will organize a solidarity gala dinner to be attended by many personalities from the entrepreneurial and film worlds.

The following day, on the terrace of the Hotel Boscolo Exedra facing Piazza della Repubblica, a special evening event, conceived and organized by Mediafriends Onlus, will be dedicated to the Oscar®-winning film La grande bellezza (The Great Beauty), featuring an auction of twenty works of art, a costume by Cesare Attolini worn by Toni Servillo and other significant memorabilia from the film.

Finally, on October 25th, a dinner prepared by Michelin-starred chef Cristina Bowerman and dedicated to the winners of the 9th Rome Film Festival will take place after the awards ceremony, at the “Giacomo Guidi” Art Gallery.
